Yesterday Marked What Would Have Been Our First Son’s 5th Birthday

Never Forget. Let Their Memory Live On…

We love you, forever and always. xo <3

Each year, more time passes by. Life does go on of course, the sun keeps rising and the sun keeps setting. What no one tells you though, is that you will never truly forget, and you shouldn’t. I found out that I was going to be a mum for the very first time on November 14th, 2013, nothing will ever change that. Sadly though, our first son, we never got the chance to meet him. I wish with all of my heart that we did. We have been blessed with his two brothers and for that I’m eternally grateful. xoxo

My beautiful baby boy, who sadly never made it safely earth-side, you are loved, you will never be forgotten. For your Daddy and I remember hearing the beautiful sound of your heartbeat like it was yesterday. It’s a moment which I will never forget, never take for granted. You might not have been on this earth inside of mummy’s belly for long, but the short time you were, you were so very loved by your mummy and daddy, your grandparents, aunts and uncles. You will always live on. Your spirit inside of my heart, forever and always. To a lifetime of you watching over us. Happy 5th Birthday in heaven my gorgeous little angel. I love you. xo

  • Your Mummy, who loves you dearly. xo <3

My Special 35th Birthday Celebrations – Another Trip Around the Golden Sun…

Flower Crown Fun with My Besties in the Park xo – July 20th, 2019 – Saturday Spent with My Nearest and Dearest Friends. xo

Yesterday marked a beautiful day spent in the Gorgeous Sunshine with my lovely girlfriends. It was such a nice day. Most definitely one which I enjoyed immensely. I am such a girly-girl at heart and the flower crown party was such a perfect fit for this year’s celebrations! xo <3

My dear friend, the owner of Grounded Picnics, in Brisbane was the beautiful lady who set up and styled the picnic for me. I added drink bottles for the cute “Drink Me” personalised waters and picked up some little lip gloss favours from my local Target and Big W. Aside from that and some balloons for a stunning balloon garland and the cake, everything else was done for me, which was great! I also had the lovely personalised place cards for the guests and the pretty “Welcome Sign”, all looked after by Alana, which was so amazing. As always, she does a fabulous job. I have been an official client of Alana’s for 2 events prior to my birthday, for my mum’s 60th and my little sister’s 30th. I so wanted to experience the beautiful picnic first-hand and I’m so very glad that I did. A huge big thank you to Alana for gifting me the picnic. I must not also forget the beautiful hand-made and designed flower cookies which we made by the super talented 2ChefsandaCupcake team. I show Alana some inspiration and she kindly arranges with the supplier and includes pick up and delivery for the day. They are always such a hit with the guests and a yummy treat for everyone to enjoy on the day, or take home after the event too.

Bright blooms, your girlfriends, bubbles and delicious food, mother-nature and the perfect styling = the recipe for an absolutely successful afternoon in my eyes! xo #celebrations #love #happiness #colour #mothernature #parkfun #picnics #birthdays x

I love this beautiful image so much. It actually as so much meaning behind it. Something which I look forward to sharing with my loyal blog readers more soon. I placed two little butterflies in my finished flower crown. I will keep it forever. xo

It was so lovely to all “toast together” – no picnic party is complete without some bubbles. The venue is just beautiful and it’s perfect being able to enjoy a glass of bubbles whilst having our meal. The weather as you might be able to tell from the photos, was picture perfect Winter weather too!

The pretty cake tied in so well with a beautiful floral invitation which we had designed by Tanya who also did the flower crown workshop. I was so very happy with how it all came together on the day! The cake was strawberry vanilla, yumo! <3 xo

35 years around the beautiful Golden Sun! I feel so very blessed to have enjoyed life for that long. I’m so very much looking forward to the future. <3 Life really is what you make it. Dress – Review, Cardigan – Gifted by my gorgeous little sis, Bec. xo
Flower Crown, Made by – Mwah! (Yours Truly!) 🙂

I honestly had the best day ever. I remember vividly saying to the girls, that: “I was living my best life ever!” And it was so true. Everything was perfect. Every year of life, it really does get that much more sweeter. You most certainly appreciate more.

Alana and I went to school together. Alana was two years above me at school. We now live in the same estate and the same suburb which is so special. We met through our mutual dear friend, Tarn. I feel so blessed to have not just Alana’s and Tarn’s friendship for life, but their beautiful support for special projects, which are close to my heart. Life truly is all about the moments of happiness and who you choose to spend those special moments with. Friendship truly is a special thing. xo <3

Sparkling and good friends! It most definitely doesn’t get much better than that. I most definitely felt like I was in my natural habitat here. Hehe. 🙂 xo I can’t wait to do it all again soon. Take me back to Saturday, already! #love #life #happiness. <3 xo

The plates and cutlery were so gorgeous too, as where the vases and pretty blooms. The white vintage-feel table runners were also a big fave of mine on the day!

The styling of the picnic, the location of the picnic and all of the finer details, truly made it unforgettable. I absolutely loved the colour palette and I’m looking forward to experiencing many more gorgeous events together in the near future. <3 xo

Grounded Picnics also includes a gorgeous, “Welcome Sign”, which is personalised to suit a special event. xo

The styling was so very beautiful! I love Alana’s style. It does help that she knows me well but I knew that what she would create would be nothing short of amazing. It truly looked incredible! xo <3

Cheers ladies! What a fabulous day. It truly was one to remember forever! I loved the special celebrations with these gorgeous ladies. They are my best friends in the world. So blessed to have friends from all parts of my life. There are so many connections too! After all, in the busy world which we live, they say that there is the 6 degrees of separation! <3 xo

Alana, thank you so much for all which you did for the celebrations. Yourself and Tarn, setting up on the day and working in with the lovely Tanya on the day to make sure everything was perfect. I’m sure there will be more events to all come! <3 xo

Beautiful Tanya. I am so grateful for our friendship. You are the most beautiful person, both inside and out. <3 xo I absolutely loved the flower crown class, which we did. You made it absolutely perfect for us. Special memories to treasure forever. xo

The stationary all matched perfectly as well. From the gorgeous flowers, through to the pretty font, everything suits the overall theme. <3 xo

For those of you who have followed the blog from the very beginning, you would know just how much, I absolutely “LOVE” styling and hosting special occassions. My sister’s wedding was recently featured in Brisbane Bride Magazine and we have also had our wedding featured in a number of special publications. For as long as I can remember, I just love events. I have worked in events and marketing for over 15 years, but nothing makes me prouder than working with suppliers to create a special event with friends and family which will become a memory to treasure for years and years to come.

The venue that was chosen was a beautiful river-side cafe in gorgeous Brisbane. It was called North Shore Harbour Cafe. We had 11 of us and the staff were so kind enough to give us the menus, we ordered and they hand-delivered the food to our picnic tables. We also enjoyed a special celebratory toast of bubbles, some girls opted for a vino, others a mocktail juice and of course, the popular tea and coffees for a beautiful sun-filled Winter Saturday. The food was absolutely delicious too! I enjoyed the calamari chips and salad and it was simply divine! Even the beautiful plates which the food was presented on to – were just gorgeous. I am so looking forward to returning to the venue for lunch or breakky with the family again soon. xo There is also a really lovely park where the kids can play. The river is right near the park and there is some great parking availability too. It’s actually now one of my favourite parts of the beautiful city we call home to visit. I’d highly recommend a look!

If you are hosting a special birthday, baby shower, bridal shower, or special occasion, you simply can’t look past the team at Grounded Picnics. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Alana the business owner is so caring and compassionate, and has such a great eye for detail! No matter what event colour palette you are looking for, she can tailor the event to your needs. We opted for a beautiful pink, blue, white and green decor theme and I could not have been happier! Everything turned out fabulous. From the pretty cake – through to the balloon garland on the cake table, it all tied in perfectly. When planning events, until you see it all come together on the day, it’s often hard to imagine the final atmosphere and look, but I can honestly say, I trust Grounded Picnics so much. They simply can’t do no wrong! I am looking forward to continuing to support the beautiful business that they are. My next event I would love to book in would be a special sip and paint celebration. Stay tuned! xo

The trees were such a naturally stunning backdrop! The sun glistened through the trees. I loved the time of day which we were there too. <3 For your reference, the event ran from 12-2:30pm. xo Perfect in Winter when the sun is not as harsh. x

This shot of the pretty styling is a great capture by the talented, Sarah of Fire and Honey Images! Sarah, I am so very grateful for Alana introducing us! I look forward to treasuring these precious memories for many years to come. I’m already thinking of something special for next year! It’s been a few years now of fun little events with the girls. From high tea parties, through to picnic parties. From venues to a mix of venues and nature, I must admit, this one is by far, my new fave of all time! A big shout out again to the girls for helping make last Saturday happen and come to life. Special events don’t just happen overnight, but I felt next to no stress with this event, which is how any special occasion should be! Five star review from me ladies. x

Some Other Happy Snaps from the Day of Celebrating! xo

The perfect lunch! It was so fresh, just delicious! I’m so glad that I ordered this meal. It’s literally, my, “go-to-meal”, each and every time I go anywhere. Hubby doesn’t eat seafood, so it’s so nice to enjoy when I’m out and about at venues! xo

All of the pretty details. The roses and babies breathe are always my fave! The vibrant fushia pink was just gorgeous too! xx

I can’t wait to come back to this location with my beautiful family and enjoy a picnic with the boys, we can show the boys the ducks and beautiful rose garden butterflies. I know that the setting will be even more magical returning. It was lovely though to enjoy some mum down time, which allowed me to fill-up my self-care cup! (Mummas, we know that we all need it every once in a while, don’t we ladies?!) Can I get a, “hell-yes!”, everybody repeat after me, “you time” is “A-Okay!” Enjoy, get out today if you can and do something purely for you. Whether that be journaling, or taking a walk, reading your fave book, put a smile on your face. lt’s okay to enjoy the things that you once did. You kids and partner will appreciate you for it too. Just like them, we need to look after ourselves too! x

Have gotten so much wear from it!) If it had come in other colours, I would have most definitely scooped them up! x

Wearing my all-time fave, Review Dress. #reviewgirl – my Roxy Jacenko Accessories headband and my Forever New Earrings. #winterstylinginthegardens xo

Having fun swirling in my lace dress. I have honestly worn this dress so much, it has been perfect for so many special occasions. xo

The boardwalk was so beautiful. On our shoot day, we had such stunning weather for winter too in Australia. Cannot recommend this location enough to visit! xo

I absolutely love my satin pale pink headband by #roxyaccessories. I know that I will be using it so much. Earrings, Forever New, Dress, Review, #reviewGirl xx

Every single Review dress which I own (which is hundreds over the years!) has lasted so well. They wash so perfectly on a delicate wash cycle. Love, love them!

The beautiful photos, which I had taken at the gardens, these were taken by the lovely and very talented, Sarushka Reddy. She is so talented with her photography, really love her work and she is always such a pleasure to work with as well. Thank you so much Sarushka, I have loved our shoots together. xo

The roses truly are just out of this world! xo So much natural beauty in the one place xo

I have gotten so much wear out of this jacket! I invested in it back in the Winter season, Review range for 2016 and 3, almost 4 years on, it’s still going strong! It’s the perfect fit, weight of material and has the most beautiful silk polka dot lining. I love to roll my sleeves up and just gives that added relaxed cuteness to it! Head piece: Headband (pink satin from the Roxy Accessories range), gold love heart necklace, so sentimental to me – Wallace Bishop, earrings, Forever New. x

So many beautiful blooms. Flowers to me are so very healing. They represent so much. They are so beautiful to touch, smell and appreciate. Love them. What’s your favourite blooms, or does it depend on the season?

Laughing really is nature’s best medicine. I had so much fun shooting with the lovely Sarushka. I’m going to miss her a lot once she goes to London soon! xo

The pretty pink rose garden was my absolute fave on the shoot day and as I look back again today on the very special memories, I am still so in love with the space and the gorgeous surrounds. It’s such a stunning location and every day it is open to the public to enjoy. Be sure to check out with your family very soon! You too can create some special memories that can last a lifetime. Whether you want to find a place to heal, or a place to simply reflect and catch up with friends, and family, or as I mentioned earlier, on, have down time on your own, the world just stops. It truly is a magical place. Full of real life butterflies. xo

Dress, Review, Cute floral shoulder bag – Myer, Headband and little black and cream pearl (velvet) and baby pink bows (satin), Roxy Jacenko Accessories, Gold necklace, Wallace Bishop, and lastly my bracelets – Pandora Charm bracelet, featuring many special memory charms, Pandora, Gold diamante, also is WB. xo

Everyone that knows me knows that I love headbands and hair accessories, ever since I was a little girl, I have loved to play “hair dress ups”. It’s my thang! 😉 x I have invested in some beautiful pieces by Roxy Jacenko Accessories and just adore my fave three staple pieces, my black pearl bow (perfect from day to night wear), my gorgeous and sweet pink satin number and my fave out of all of them, the pink satin and super sweet, might I also add, super comfy headband. xo

Pretty blooms, from my fave homewares retailer: Kmart. Shoes, black little heels, Target Australia. Gorgeous Background backdrop for the shoot, beautiful Mother Nature in all of her glory on the stunning Gold Coast, at Benowa Botanical Gardens. Such a stunning spot to relax and unwind in peace by the water. x

Earrings, Forever New, Heart Necklace, Gifted by my husband on our wedding day, from Wallace Bishop, Dress, Review, location: Benowa Botanical Gardens, GC. xo

This beautiful dark green is also, you guessed it, Review! All of the dresses in this shoot where my one and only brand that I just adore! 🙂 It was purchased last season, but once again, I have gotten so much wear out of it! I love to pair with my review navy jacket and cream and navy cardis! So many awesome options. x

The three favourite things for me about the shoot, where: the location, most definitely being in nature, surrounded by the beautiful winter roses, the colours of autumn too which the khaki greens and browns, the gorgeous fresh air and being near the water. For me, water is just so very calming, I adore it! #shootday xo
