Our Wedding Anniversary Vow Renewal at St John’s Cathedral. Where We Tied the Knot the Year Prior. <3

Such Special Memories with Hubby

These photos really have become more special with time and no doubt they will continue to do so as time continues on over the coming years. I’d absolutely love to renew by vows again at 10 years! Here’s to hoping!

Here is a sneak peak of the really beautiful photos that our gorgeous friend and photographer, Sarah Taylor took for us. I just love how she captured them so effortlessly. She is one super duper talented person! xo

Reading our renewal vows with Reverend Dean.

Loved my Alan Pinkus vow renewal shoes! From Myer

My Review dress has been a special dress since our vow renewal day! I loved how it was a touch of French, just like our wedding day was!

Memories to treasure for a lifetime together. xo

A perfect afternoon. Flowers were via our wedding florist – @archaraflowers

I also had my hair and make-up done professionally by Kate Caddle in our unit which we also stayed at for our wedding – The Meriton Apartments. This time was a smaller room for us both of course and the difference was we enjoyed a relaxing morning together!

January 7th – A trip in to the city today with my three loves

Not the best weather today unfortunately here in Sunny Queensland, but never the less, we ventured out in to the city and had our fossicking stones looked at by two gemologists. (No, unfortunately we can’t retire tomorrow, lol)

Highlights of the tea – visiting the gorgeous Brisbane Arcade. I really am an oldy worldy person at heart. I truly love the antique shops, high tea with fine china and beautiful jewellery stores with milliners and dress shops.

I had my grandmother’s special ring that she kindly gifted me valued too. It’s 48 years old and I have had it for about 12 or 13 years myself. It’s so special to me and will always be kept in the family. I wear it every single day.

We had a nice lunch stop in the Winter Garden and popped in to David Jones. We parked at Queens Plaza and it was awesome. We booked in advance (on the drive there) via the Secure Parking app and I was pleasantly surprised at how much we saved. Especially with our RACQ membership discount! Winner, winner chicken dinner as they say! It was so very easy, we were sent a pin on the booking and even received an email and text message hubby said. I will most definitely be utilising that for our next inner-city trip!

Our little Ollie, gorgeous inside and out. Look at that cheeky smile! #loveyoubuddy #soproudtobeyourmummy #almost3.5thismonth

I’m sad that my hubby and the boys Dad is back at work tomorrow for the year as we have had a really love break, but I am going to look at it all in a positive manner, that we can all have a “can do attitude” and get in to the swing of things with kicking our goals for the year and making our dreams for 2019 a reality. At the moment, the kids will both be at home with me, which will save us some money this year and I’m excited to spend some quality time with them. I look forward to you all continuing to follow our journey via my personal blog – @ThePinkJubilee. Thank you so much for following. Much love and hugs from our family to yours. Rachael xo

Some more precious memories from our family adventure’s today!

Action shot for the year so far! Love this of our little Ollie, his gorgeous face! My new fave snap of our little 4-year-old to be this year! Yikes! Time is absolutely flying by so very fast indeed. xo

My new fave snap of Hubby and Little Oscar. xo

Moments to treasure forever. Photos really do become more valuable with time. x

Such a heart-warming snap. I really love this one. I captured it just at the right time. xo

Tomorrow, we plan to head on in to the city which will be really exciting! We can’t wait to do that. It’s going to be amazing. So stay tuned, as we have some fun fossicking fun news to report back on (hopefully, fingers and toes crossed! xo) I can’t wait to check out the botanical gardens again with the boys. We have so much fun that we want to tick off our yearly adventure list of activities for 2019! Do you have special trips planned with your family this year? I am hoping that my hubby will get some long service leave later this year. We really can’t wait to see how that all pans out. It will be lovely to spend quality time together again when that happens. xo

  • Thank you so much to our valued blog readers, FB and Insta followers and friends/family, it really is such an honour to be able to share our lives with you all. I appreciate the love and support so very much! Rachael, wife to Brent, and Mummy to Ollie and Oscar xoxo

Family Outings with my Special Ones

I love that a New Year Brings New Memories, New Experiences. New Everything! The First Official Weekend of the NY! 2019

2019, You Have Been Pretty Great So Far. Looking forward to seeing what you have in store for us!

Special Birthday Celebrations…

Today we celebrated my Dad’s 64th Birthday and we enjoyed some yummy Black Forest birthday cake from the Cheesecake Shop (the Wavell Heights shop in Brissy is fab for anyone who wants a delicious cake!).

We played pass the parcel with the kids which was super fun, we listening to music, we played in the backyard, we have some candid family photos and we had yummy cups of tea. Today was a lovely day. One for the memory bank as they say. Five days in to the New Year and I’m really hoping that the year continues to be amazing. Of course, everyday won’t be perfect, but finding happiness in both the good and bad days is what is important. I am so thankful to have my Dad here to celebrate his special birthday. My late Grandad Norman sadly passed away the year before I was born, so unfortunately, I never got to meet him. My 92 year old Nan has been on her own since, but she is always surrounded by family and friends who love her dearly. I really wish so much that she wasn’t so far away. I know she would have loved to celebrate with us today. I hope that this year I can get over to the UK. If luck is on our side, we can save our pennies as they say and get on to that trip. I’m sure the boys would love to head over there too. To visit Brent’s late Dad’s side of the family too. Very special that we both have family in the UK. Our boys will be so blessed to meet all of the family one day. All in good time. A trip two years ago had to be cancelled, but now Oscar can come too!

Happy Birthday to my wonderful Dad. Dad, aka, “Poppy”, you truly are, “One in a million”. We love you so very much. With all of our hearts and more. xo #64today

The Rest of Today!

I love how we near so close to the city and also to the beach. It really is so very handy and convenient. Today the tide was out and we got to enjoy the beautiful surrounds of Nudgee Beach.

It was so much fun to just relax and unwind. Brent had Oscar Bear in the baby carrier. (Love Ego Baby! Has been our saviour with both of the boys!) We took down two balls to play with, (a soccer ball and basket ball) and we just laughed, played and chillaxed. We looked at little crab holes and the crabs scrambling/scurrying in and out, we played at the park, we admired the beautiful trees, the fresh breeze against our skin, (maybe not so much the mozzies later in the afternoon, lol), and we topped off the day with just making the local and infamous fish and chip shop which have lovely down-to-earth customer service. We ordered ice-creams and we headed home to have some downtime, to chillax and unwind. The perfect way to spend hubbies last few days of the holidays.

And Yesterday… We had the best time at Dreamworld Altogether

*Photos from DreamWorld. We were lucky enough to receive our digital prints being VIP pass holders and we also always get the paid print outs which are at a discounted price too. Love being VIP card holders!

Other Plans for the rest of the Holidays!

Stay tuned for our trip to get our fossicking stones valued! We also hope to head in to the city to explore the beautiful Botanical Gardens again. Can’t wait! I also am looking forward to taking the family to Australia Zoo, showing the boys were Mummy used to work when I was Deputy Editor of Australia Zoo Crikey! Magazine many moons ago! Geez, how life flies by. I really couldn’t have imagined where I journey has taken us all.

New Year, New You – What’s Your New Year’s Resolution?

A New Year is upon us already. It is 2019. Can you believe it? I remember 2009 like it was yesterday. I played match-maker for a now married couple, (I have match made a few couples in my time) toots to me! Lol.

This year, for some reason, it feels different. Different in a good way though. I feel that this year, things will just fall in to place. I really truly hope that they do. I want nothing more than this year to make sense. To be exactly how it’s meant to be. For myself and my family to be on the right path. A friend of mine said to me today, if you see 1:11 and 11:11, then you are on the right path to your destiny and meaning to life. Well, I can safely say that I have been seeing this now more than ever. Perhaps with it being NY, you are more prone to noticing it all, but I have faith. Faith that 2019 will be my best yet by far. And why is that? Because I’m going to own it. I’m going to think positive thoughts, be a positive person all around and not let negativity or negative takers get me down. I only have time for givers this year. I hope that doesn’t sound too harsh, but life is too short not to demand what you deserve. People talk all about self-love these days and I agree, it’s so very true. You have to love yourself before you can love others. That goes for family, your kids, your hubby/partner and friends.  I know when we had our losses before our two boys, I lost my way, I fell out of love with myself. I thought that my body had failed me, and in a way, it had. But since that devastating time, I have birthed two gorgeous boys, been with my husband for 12 years this year and will have been married for 7. I am doing my very best. Each and every single day. Can I still do more? Of course I can. But at my own pace and in my own time. My mantra for 2019? She believed that she could, and “She Did”. This year I have hope for so many dreams and aspirations. Not just for me, but for our families and our close friends too. I hope that we all get what we wish for. I guess that time will tell. Fingers crossed and toes of course. Wishing you all a beautiful rest of your festive season on holidays and a very happy and prosperous NY ahead.

Have you set some New Year goals for yourself and your family? I’m excited to sit down with my husband this week and work through our goals, both individually, and also as a couple. I hope that we smash them out of the park this year! The year we properly made our goals for the year, seriously was the best year ever. Setting goals and achievable goals, really does hold you accountable for making sure that you set aside time to make them happen. For the years really do travel by so very fast. It’s crazy how fast they roll by. Every year, we get older, and wiser (we hope so anyway ;-), every year, it’s human to have thoughts and wishes. I wish you all the best in making your dreams a reality for 2019! Good luck and I can’t wait to watch you on your journey whilst we connect through my blog.

Love and hugs, Rachael. xxoo

Our Trip to the Farm – So Special for our Family – A Christmas that will be Hard to Beat!

Ending 2018 with An Awesome Family Holiday to the Farm in Rural NSW

We have just recently returned home after a fabulous trip to the farm with my family. It was a lovely trip and one which will always hold special memories for my family and I. Despite getting sick with a nasty sinus infection a few days in, I didn’t let that put a dampener on our holiday.

Some of the trip highlights include – visiting the lamb lambs, choosing our Xmas Tree together, visiting two beautiful wineries and having a special tour, as well as popping in to the local pub for a drink and special family dinner on our last night.

Ariah Park is known as a 1920’s historical village and it really did live up to its wonderful expectations of being such a gorgeous quaint town. I absolutely loved it. The buildings and the people where all beautiful. It was so very magical on Xmas Eve when I walked past one of the shops and you could hear the Xmas music on in-store. Not sure whether it was a musical snow globe or jewellery box that had been left on, but it really was so magical to experience. There weren’t too many locals out and about as it was Xmas time of course, but the ones who we met were so kind and welcoming. I can easily see why my sister loves her new home. The local Ariah Park State School is also another lovely school and is home to 140 kids for their learning. The local police station was decked out in gorgeous festive Christmas lights, and my Brother-in-Law’s and Sister’s farm was also beautifully decorated with stunning Christmas lights. From the moment we found the property coming in off the highway, I knew we were in for a memorable Christmas. Christmas really is about being with the people who you love the most. For us, now we have our beautiful two boys, it really is about creating memories with them. Each year as they get older and understand more the magic of Christmas, it becomes even more special. The boys were treated to gifts from Santa, finding us on the farm,  as well as lovely gifts from the family.

I already miss the farm and my family. It’s been an eventful few days for Ariah Park and surrounding towns as a big and rare weather event, dust-storm travelled through the town and the farms. Mum, Dad, and my sis and her hubby had gone away for two nights for the New Year, so they missed it, but my Brother-in-Law’s Dad captured it all on camera and sent us some photos!

I hope that you are all having a safe start to the New Year and are looking forward to the year ahead. I know how much I am. I can’t wait to see what the New Year brings. 2019, I have a feeling that you are going to be pretty spesh!

My favourite photo of Xmas, our gorgeous little Oscar Bear enjoying his first proper Christmas Dinner at Auntie Bec and Uncle Jock’s place, on the beautiful farm.

The Perfect Gift for Business Owners and PR Professionals – A Little Black Book that Ticks all of the Boxes

Author and PR Expert, Roxy Jacenko

Being in the PR industry and having worked as a PR business owner both past and present, it was a no-brainer for me to want to get my hands on a copy of Roxy’s newest book. I knew that it would be great, but it was better than great, it was truly awesome and exceeded expectations. Like everything that Roxy does, she has produced a high-quality book of tips and tricks that is bound to be a best-seller.

This 5-star read consists of five chapters, covering: Career, Business, PR, Social Media and Life. I thoroughly enjoyed each chapter, but my faves were number three and four. After heading back to study after 13 years, I loved learning the ins and outs of social media marketing and measurement. One thing that you can’t learn though, is a natural ability to have a “can-do” attitude, which will set you aside from your competitors. Being creative is a talent sure, but surrounding yourself with like-minded people is what will drive your success. As Roxy states in her book, she doesn’t think, “she does”.

I absolutely loved the back “notes” section. So be sure to have your pen at the ready ladies and gents, there are so many takeaways from this read. If you are a business owner, Mumprenear, student, or PR expert who needs a “go-to” resource, then this book simply has it all. Affordably priced, you might like to stock up on them for your friends and family members too! Retailing for $16.99, it will seriously be the best money that you have spent all year.

With Roxy continually setting the bar higher and higher, and not just in the fashion stakes (love her wardrobe!), I look forward to seeing what Roxy has in store for 2019. Congratulations on an amazing read and thank you for sharing your insights with us all. I know that I won’t be the only one to takeaway what I have from reading, Roxy’s Little Black Book of Tips & Tricks.

Special Photo Memories with My Love – Moments to Treasure Forever & Forever

“Memories become more precious with time…”

In the past, we have had many photo hiccups, from failing hard-drives, through to water on the laptop, iPad breakdowns, lost SD cards when they have been “safely” put in a little box to avoid being damaged and lost, when in fact, of course the opposite happens and they accidentally and painstakingly still get thrown out, with no back-up! Heart sinking and stomach churning insert “here”! Ugh, I sure have had my fair incidents with precious memories and moments being lost. I think that one of the worst was our European holiday which I accidentally moved the folder to the recycle bin and it didn’t restore, they were also the photos we believe where on the forever lost SD card. I think the universe just wants us to go back to visit Paris and Italy now that we are a family of four, what do you think? Lol. I’m a big believe that things always – happen for a reason!

So, despite a few years and precious moments and memories being missing on our now family PC, I have scoured my emails and blog posts from previous guest blogger opportunities to savour these precious memories to share. I am a big photo-addict. Self-confessed, through and through. I wasn’t always. On schoolies, I remember being so scared of breaking my camera that I think I took one or two photos. (probably for the best there! haha 😉 But now that we are a family and creating special memories, every day, I see the value of photos more than ever. They really do, without a doubt, get more precious with age. So here, I will continue to document, our life as, The Tickner family. But this little blog post beauty, is all about the past. I’ve been with my husband for 12 years in August of 2019 and we have know each other longer than that. Married for 7 years next year too, gulp!? Where does the time go. I really don’t know. I know that this Christmas, I hope to take out my trusty camera, (with my SD card holder for good safety back-up measure) and make some awesome new memories on our road trip to the farm! I hope to sneak some blog posts in along the way, so be sure to follow our journey. Next year, if luck is on our side, we might just have some more road trips. That’s the goal, for now anyway!

The Pink Jubilee Christmas Gift Guide – Top 4 Gift Ideas from Dreambaby® Australia

We are all busily trying to get our last minute gift ideas for our family and friends and with so many options out there, I know for me, when purchasing for my family members and friends’ little ones, I always do try and think of something that they will use and appreciate! Both the kids and the adults that is! ? We have long been a family user of Dreambaby® Australia products and the past few months, we have tried and tested three products which we simply can’t go past!

  1. Dreambaby® Anti-Slip Bath Mat – With ‘Too-Hot!’ Water Indicator 40cm x 70cm (15.75 x 27.5in)

With Oscar and Ollie now bathing together in the big bath, this product has been an absolute lifesaver for us. We have the peace of mind that whilst we are in the bathroom safely watching over the boys that we don’t have to worry as much about them slipping whilst in the bathtub. The fact that it also has the hot water temperature indicator on it is a great little tech addition!

The boys especially love the turtle and the fish characters on the design! I love how you can easily dry it off and the kids can also step on to the mat when helping them get changed. I’m actually thinking of investing in another one to have one in the bath and one for when they step out of the bath!

Suction cups to prevent slipping
Fun Aussie Animal Design
Hot Water Temperature Indicator
Changes Colour When ‘Too Hot!’

$20.00

The
Dreambaby® Anti-Slip Bath Mat retails for $20 and is available from Big W and other selected retailers.

The Dreambaby® Anti-Slip Bath Mat is a fun and functional product. It covers a large surface area helping to prevent your child slipping and has a ‘Too-Hot’ Indicator panel, which changes colour to show a thermometer image when and if the bath water is too hot. The last thing which we want to do is have the little ones hurt themselves with hot water. Something which Dreambaby® likes to remind customers is there is never an official product replacement that would take the place for proper adult supervision, whilst a child is in the bathtub.

The product features include:

*A fun and colourful design
*Suction cups on the base so that it is anti-slip.
*Textured surface giving the child added stability and safety.
*The anti-slip mat fills a decent surface area
*Includes a ‘too hot’ indicator..

2. Dreambaby® Duck Bath & Room Thermometer

Since becoming a mum, the bath and nursery room temperature have most definitely been our big worries. I have often not been able to sleep too well with being concerned if bub was wearing enough clothing, you don’t want them to be too hot, nor of course, too cold. I am so very thankful to have found the Dreambaby® Duck Bath & Room Thermometer. It is the perfect two-in-one solution for figuring out the temperature in the bath and also in the nursery.

It comes in three cute designs as well! A Turtle, a Duck, and a Crocodile which are just gorgeous too! If you had triplets, would be perfect to get them one of each!

They are also a great price-point and another bonus is that they come with batteries. Below you can read up on some more product info, or head on over to the Dreambaby Australia website here.

$19.95.

BPA-Free Award Winning Thermometer – Accurate Temperature Gauge – Cute Duck Design, or Crocodile Design. We tested out the gorgeous turtle and really loved it. (that one is currently available at Big W stores nationwide and online). Easy to read indicator, automatically updates. Switchable to Celsius or Fahrenheit – Tested Toy Standard.

The Perfect Temperature – Getting the temperature just right for your child can be quite difficult at times. Sometimes hand-testing water isn’t always the best method, which is why we created the baby-safe Room & Bath Thermometer. It takes the guess work out of bath time, adds a flare of fun to the tub, and ensures that your baby’s sensitive skin can be kept safe from harsh temperatures.

Safe, Fast and Accurate. While this thermometer is cute enough to be your child’s favourite toy, it’s also durable enough to be your new best-friend too!

BPA-free and tested to the EN71 Standard, this absolutely safe device gives accurate digital temperature readings that conveniently and automatically update every 10 seconds.

This saves parents any hassle, and you can then have complete control to adjust your baby’s bathwater to the temperature which you wish it to be.

Colour Coded Indicator = Alongside its precise temperature readings, when used in the water, the Dreambaby® Thermometer features a red indicator light for when the water is too hot and a green indicator light for when the water is too cool. It can also give temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit.

Also reads room temperatures – In addiction to being used in the tub, the

Dreambaby® Thermometer can also be placed in your baby’s room, where it will offer the same reliable temperature readings as you receive whilst using it in the bath tub.  This is perfect for making adjustments to your central thermostat and ensuring that your baby’s room is kept at the right temperature.

The best part about the product is that batteries are also included! You can quickly and easily use it right out of the packet! In addition, it features a 30 minute automatic shut off to help preserve the battery lifespan. Don’t worry about getting the thermometer wet – it can be safely submerged in water, making it an adorable way to ensure that bath time is less stressful and more enjoyable for the whole family with the little ones having their newest bathtub accessory!

  1. The Dreambaby® Stroller Fan – Both of our Babies Love the Stroller Fan! Especially Now we have the Double Pram for the boys!

Coming in three colours, pink, blue or black, this little beauty retails for an affordable $12.95. This Summer we have been ramping up our morning and afternoon walks, and I can’t wait to take this great little product on our upcoming family holiday down south to the farm! Such a great gift idea for a Christmas stocking filler for the little ones, a baby shower gift for a friend or colleague, and of course for your little one at home! We have the pink, but I can’t wait to pick up the other colours too! They look super stylish on the pram, whilst being easy to utilise and maintain,  as well as clean! Another great product design and peace of mind for mums, dads and carers, is that if you are enjoying using the fans on the strollers whilst on a leisurely walk, the fans are designed with soft foam fins, so no one needs to worry about their child getting hurt. Safety and product design is always top priority with all Dreambaby® products, another reason why my family have always loved and trusted the brand.

4. Super Toy Store Corner Hammock & Bonus Toy Chain

For an easy way to keep toys off the floor and out of the way when they aren’t being played with. This is an attractive, neat and functional way of storing them. I know the boys rooms get so messy so this is a fab way to keep the toys out of reach when we want to keep the nursery or Ollie’s room nice and tidy, whilst limiting the toys that they have out on a daily and weekly basis.

RRP: $24.94
Where to Find: Baby Bunting

For more information on Dreambaby® products, head on over to their website or your nearest stockist retailer.
